WHO WE ARE
GARIP & ZEYCAN YILDIRIM FOUNDATION
The YILDIRIM family, having a half-century-old corporate culture, established GZYV, Garip & Zeycan YILDIRIM Foundation in 2015. They aim to transfer their industrial and economic power to develop the communities around them and to improve their prosperity by all means.
The foundation focuses on increasing social welfare by improving the quality of education, reducing inequalities, and creating opportunities for economic growth. After rebranding in 2019, GZYV concentrated philanthropic efforts on donating to education projects and empowering youth through education. These programs also aim to inspire social wellbeing and to transform character development in youth for a better community.
As the foundation of a global business organization, GZYV inherited the universal values of YILDIRIM Group. The foundation values cultural diversity, collaborative effort, and the role of communication in creating new opportunities. English W/Tech, Turkey’s first free online English learning platform was created with this ideal and it makes developing speaking skills fun and easy for the students.
SAMSUNSPOR
Samsunspor Football Club (FC) is one of the most prominent clubs of Turkish Football, established in 1965, in Samsun, Turkey. The club had many successful seasons in the past 35 years, with Samsun’s deep footballing culture. Since 1965 Samsunspor FC spent 30 seasons in the Turkish Super (Premiere) League and was crowned the champions of the TFF (Turkish Football Federation) League 1, six times. Samsunspor FC represented Turkey many times in international games. The club won the Balkans Cup in 1994 and ended up as a semi-finalist in the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 1998.
In 2018, YILDIRIM Group acquired 100% shares of the club, with a vision of becoming one the most successful clubs in Turkey, not only in terms of sportive performance but also in management and financial performance.
Samsunspor FC aims to lead the international sports community as a role model, promoting upright management, advocating fair play in football, developing young players, and creating opportunities for the talented. Using sports as a platform for social activism, the club involves in many social responsibility projects and awareness campaigns.
